Wellness Care
Wellness Exams
Your pet greatly benefits from regular wellness exams! Annual physical examinations help us detect diseases and medical conditions in your pet before they become more difficult and more expensive to diagnose and treat.
Regular exams help us develop a complete picture of your pet's health. Along with a physical "nose-to-tail" examination of your pet, we also may perform a series of laboratory tests. This information helps us identify a baseline level of your pet's health and aids in your pet's future treatment.
You are an important ally in your pet's health care! Physical exams are a great time to ask questions about your pet's health and to share any information (changes in behavior, dietary changes, etc.) with us that might help the veterinarians and staff at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital better care for your pet.
Dietary Counseling
Does your pet have a sensitivity to certain food ingredients? Does he or she need help shedding some extra pounds? The veterinarians and technicians at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital provide complete veterinary dietary counseling services for your pet. We work with you to develop a dietary plan for your pet that takes into account his or her age, lifestyle, and nutritional needs.
Obedience Counseling
If your pet is exhibiting unwanted behaviors, we can help. Our veterinarians and staff can help you and your pet work on obedience training (basic commands, etc.), eliminate unwanted behaviors, and develop a strong relationship. Because some behavior issues are caused by medical problems, we perform a complete evaluation of your pet as part of our obedience counseling program.
Pet Identification - Microchipping
Every day, hundreds of pets are lost or wander away from home. An identification tag, collar, and microchip are a great way to identify your pet and help ensure he or she returns home safely if lost. A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice. It is encoded with unique information about your pet; this information is stored in a national pet database. Veterinary hospitals and animal shelters across the country are equipped with scanners capable of detecting and reading microchips. If your pet is lost, his or her microchip is scanned, and the information is used to reunite you and your pet. Please ask a staff member to schedule your pet's microchipping appointment today.
